What is Avondale Wellness?
Avondale Wellness is a movement and wellness space designed to support you after physical therapy. It’s for people who want continued guidance with strength, movement, and confidence once they’re discharged from PT but aren’t ready (or interested) in a traditional gym.
Think of it as the bridge between PT and the gym.
Where is Avondale Wellness located?
Avondale Wellness is located next to Avondale Physical Therapy in downtown Avondale Estates.
6 N Avondale Rd., Avondale Estates, GA 30002
What’s going to happen there?
Avondale Wellness is not physical therapy, and it’s not a gym free-for-all. It will focus on:
- Guided strength and movement sessions
- Ongoing support after PT discharge
- Safe, progressive exercise in a calm, supportive environment
How is Avondale Wellness different from a gym?
Avondale Wellness is not a traditional gym. Gyms are usually designed for independent workouts. Avondale Wellness is designed for guided movement, especially for people transitioning out of physical therapy. You’ll have structure, progression, and support in a calm, clinical-adjacent environment that prioritizes safety and confidence.
Is this instead of physical therapy?
No. This is what comes after physical therapy for people who want continued guidance.
Is Avondale Wellness designed specifically for post-PT patients?
Yes, that’s where it starts.
Avondale Wellness is designed for people who:
-
Want continued guidance
-
Feel hesitant about jumping into a traditional gym
-
Want accountability and progression
That said, it’s also appropriate for individuals who want a safe, supportive environment focused on movement quality, not just workouts.
Will there be dry needling?
No. Dry needling will not be a service offered at Avondale Wellness. However, both Druid Hills Physical Therapy and Avondale Physical Therapy are great places to receive this service.
Is it one-on-one training?
We will offer:
-
One-on-one sessions
-
Small group sessions
Working with a partner is a great way to keep yourself accountable. This one-on-one or small group structure allows for individualized attention while still building community.
Do I have to complete physical therapy to join Avondale Wellness?
No. While Avondale Wellness is designed with post-physical therapy patients in mind, you do not have to complete PT to participate.
You may be:
-
Recently discharged from PT (at our clinic or elsewhere)
-
Returning to exercise after an injury
-
Feeling deconditioned or hesitant about a traditional gym
-
Looking for guided, structured movement with accountability
If someone is currently in pain or needs medical treatment, we may recommend starting with physical therapy first or seeing your doctor. Avondale Wellness is for continued guidance, not medical care.
Can I use my insurance? Will insurance pay for it?
No. Avondale Wellness is a cash-based service and is not billed to insurance.
This allows us to:
- Spend focused time with you, without insurance restrictions
- Focus on movement, not paperwork
What does it cost?
Pricing will be transparent and straightforward, with:
- Session-based options
- Packages
Details will be shared closer to opening.
Is there a membership?
Memberships will possibly be available in the future for people who want ongoing support and consistency after PT. To start we are sticking with session-based options and packages.
Who’s in charge there?
Avondale Wellness is part of the same care philosophy as Druid Hills Physical Therapy and Avondale Physical Therapy, with a dedicated wellness professional focused on movement and strength. This is not replacing your PT, but building on what you already worked on.
Is this going to be at Druid Hills PT too?
Not right now. Avondale Wellness will launch next to Avondale Physical Therapy first. Future expansion is possible, but the initial focus is getting it right in one location.
When is it opening?
Opening soon. We’ll share an official date once the space and programming are fully ready.
